Dear Liege Lady,

What the ever-loving hell is your damage? The Sheriff wanted to know if we'd perform at the Daeva Ball, not play chicken on I 95. Why do we have to go through you on that? I realize you are top dog here, but I've never known a vassal to have to go through their liege for this sort of thing? Is there some kind of new discipline that could kill people with artistic endeavors, because that sounds like cheese I could go for.

And another thing, what happened to you? You were an awesome liege lady. I can understand that this PC is a difficult vassal, but as far as I'm aware, the other one is a fricking saint. You don't have to keep the leashes so damnably short.

There's more than one way to get a PC involved. We aren't all investigators. In fact, this little Invictus? Revels in the fact that she now has PEOPLE to do that shit for her. A certain red femme that hasn't been here for a a bit a while has decided to actually turn up again... Things have been busy for her again, and things have finally calmed down.

Of course, this time she wasn't actually intending to end up here... and right in the middle of a conversation, too.

Have you ever gotten so revved up to try a new game - only to go through the application process, be approved... And sit there?

Your attempts at RP just go ignored. Yet, you can stir up some real OOC chatter with others, but when it comes down to asking for it - even nudging, poking, trying to be polite and upfront, despite frustration - everyone seems to idle or just have an excuse.

It isn't even like your character is a twink. You've gotten compliments on your RP style and attention to details. You've even discussed with others the viability for RP and how two characters could interact - socially, action oriented, etc.

Still... You sit there. Hey, the fangirls/boys come around and bother you, but that's about it, and you don't want that.

I was really looking forward to this new game. I really thought it would be awesome. Now I'm starting to see how entirely cliquey it is. I hate crap like that...

Teaching Credentials in Ireland
Setting: Republic of Ireland, modern day
Searches: Poked around the LD categories; browsed Wikipedia articles about education in the RoI and the like, searched phrases 'lay faculty in Catholic schools' and 'Irish teaching credentials' on Google and Yahoo.

I'm looking to have a character teach art classes (ceramics, maybe glassblowing, metalcasting, photography, etc.) part-time at a private Catholic school. To make sure this is possible, I have the following questions:

1) In this type of school, are laypersons or non-Catholics allowed to teach? Or do you have to be clergy?

2) If so, what would the credentials for teaching include? Being as the classes I've outlined are...hands-on (for lack of better term) rather than purely academic, would experience/or maybe an apprenticeship be acceptable qualifications? O would the lack of a college or uni degree be a deal-breaker?

3) If one is teaching in this sort of capacity, would free or discounted tuition for the character's children be the norm? Or is that limited to the US?

There's been a death on board, someone fell off Vulture's Row and landed on the Ops Deck right by the Tower. There's no way to tell if it was an accidental death, a suicide or a murder right away. The NCIS Agent investigates. My questions are, what is the standard on board procedure when dealing with this situation. Do they close off a part of the deck? What do the officers do? What officers would be involved in the investigation? Any other info you could give me would be great.

With all the traumatic, astounding events in your life (absent, detached father, raising your siblings while working three jobs and double-majoring at school - which you, of course, graduated from with honors only to fly through the police academy and rise to detective after only a year on the force, surviving abuse, getting stalked, and yet still having time for your mad music skillz, etc), I am surprised you have not DIED of the EMO or the ANGST or the OVERLY DRAMATIC DESCRIPTIONS OF YOUR "CINNAMON TRESSES", "EMERALD ORBS" OR "FINELY TONED ABS".

But no. *sigh* You live to torment us yet another day.

Sample of a day in this girl's ever-emo/angsty/TRAUMATIC life (names changed to protect...errr...the not-so-innocent):

Between the break-up with [A], [B]'s kidnapping, the mess with her father at [C]'s wedding the night before, her one-night stand with [D], and the news that [E] had nearly been killed by [F] before killing him in self-defense... to say that [Sue] was not feeling terribly festive was an understatement.

That's a lotta drama for one sentence. It reeks of "look at me, look at me!" syndrome, coupled with a bad case of attention-whore-itis.

I mean, SRSLY, did she eat her Martyr-Complex-Os for breakfast and wash it down with a giant glass of Emo-Ade??

Russian pet names for siblings

Okay, I'm writing a story that involves two brothers. One's 15, the other's 12. Alexei is the older, Dima the younger. I need 3 things:

1: Something that a younger brother would call an older brother. A nickname or endearment. Dima looks up to his brother as his hero, and it'd be nice if the term could reflect that, but honestly, at this point I'll take anything

2: Something that an older brother would call a younger brother. Another term of endearment, if you will.The boys are very close, and the older is very protective of the younger. So far, the only term I know of is Zaika, and I'm not sure if Dima, being 12, is too old for that? You can call boys Zaika, right?

(I'm sorry for my absolute density. The only person I can ask about these things is a twelve year old girl from Belarus who is only in America for six weeks out of a year and doesn't speak enough english for me to really express to her what I'm trying to ask for. Good grief, I don't even speak enough english for me to express what I'm asking for! And it's my mother tongue!)

3: Correct me if I'm wrong: A tender, diminutive form of Dima would be somewhere along the lines of 'Dimichka, or Dimochka'? And a tender, diminutive form of Alexei is 'Alyoshka, or Alyeshen'ka'? Which is more commonly used? Or is there another that I don't know about?

Ok, so can anybody help me? I'm deperate. I've googled EVERYTHING I could think of, and I still can't find anything. If anyone could help me out, I'd be so so so thankful.

Achilles tendon injury in Viking
I have a big, tough, war hardened Viking around abouts in the 1100's.

He's been in a ton of battles before, and knows how to handle himself. He's a Viking "prince", if you will, and is probably one of the better warriors out on the battle field. One day, while he's happily slicing and dicing the enemy's army, he gets slashed across his right calf and ankle in a sort of diagonal way. It messes up his Achilles tendon, but doesn't completely tear it to shreds, as it's a rather superficial wound.

My questions: Is this possible, first of all? I want the tendon damaged, but I don't want the leg completely useless, either. Scarring, limping, and chronic pain are all spiffing! :D

Also, keeping in mind that medicine is pretty primitive at this point, and assuming my scenario is indeed possible, what would the wound look like when it's healed, aside from the scar from the actual wound? I had sort of pictured random little lumps of muscle not where they should be, and sort of hard to notice unless you happen to be studying both of his legs together. However, I'm not exactly a doctor, so I don't know! XD

Living in a Cathedral?
Searched: community memories, Coutances cathedral living quarters, interior of Coutances cathedral, Coutances 1691, various combinations thereof. I'm not really sure what else to search for.

Situation: Character D's parents have both just committed suicide. D is seven years old, and, up until that point, has gone to the cathedral of Coutances every day, so I suppose he'd be on pretty 'good terms' with the priests and whatnot. He has no other family. Would it be plausible for him to be taken to live inside the cathedral itself? If so, where would he stay?

Street Fighter 4
I have now seen Street Fighter 4, if only briefly.

I even played it for a time. One of the guys on the machine was playing Sagat then suddenly had to go. I happened to be standing there, so I got to take over. I managed to beat all who dared challenge me.

Then I lost to the CPU. Grar.

Nobody's using the MP+MK Saving Attack very much, so I don't have much to say about it just yet. I used it to block one-hit fireballs a few times.

Before that, I tried El Fuerte, to see what he's like. I was challenged by an Akuma player and destroyed extremely quickly.

Which reminds me, far too many players are picking the Shotoclones. Gah. A whole new Street Fighter, and people are still picking the frigging Shotoclones and doing the same old strategies and combos. While this is not very unexpected, it's still very depressing.
